Evans Towne Center Park is the most well-known park in the Evans area. This park has a wonderful playground that kids of all ages can enjoy. After working up a sweat on the playground, kids can cool off in the splash pad. There is also a rock climbing wall available. Want to bring your dog? There is a large dog park for our furry friends to enjoy. Dogs are welcome throughout the park if on a leash. There are also picnic areas as well as restrooms found here as well. This is the park to watch for special events that are put on throughout the year. Be sure to check the calendar if you plan to visit on a weekend, especially near a major holiday.

Riverside Park is nestled along the Savannah River. If you have a kayak, canoe or paddle board, Riverside Park offers access points to get your water vessel on the water. Your eye might be drawn to the beautiful brick bridge over the area river you can paddle around and under. There are floating docks, boat docks, and a fishing pier here as well. If you are looking to get outdoors and spend some time around the water, then Riverside Park is a great option, but you will also find activities to do outside of the water. There are playgrounds, picnic tables, beach volleyball courts, and tennis courts to keep you and your family active and engaged!

Blanchard Woods Park was opened in 2007. It offers a beautiful cross-country run, with markers indicating the following distances: 3k, 5k, 6k, 8k, and 10k. These trails are the home location for Augusta University’s cross-country team, and they are also used by several high schools in the area. While visiting the area, be sure to bring comfortable shoes so you can run or walk the trails. Blanchard Woods Parks is also known for its more unique characteristics: a skate park and a BMX course. So, grab your skateboard or BMX bike and join in on the fun. The BMX course hosts races every so often, and you might enjoy spectating while others attempt to navigate the twists and turns. As with most parks, you will find picnic areas as well as restrooms.

If you have younger children, be sure to visit the Columbia County Amphitheater. Being an Amphitheater, you will find various concerts and events being put on here. However, this is a wonderful park for kids with a playground and splash pad. With the hot summer temperatures in Georgia, splash pads have become a huge hit here. When it’s time to get out of the water and warm up a bit, you can feed the turtles in the nearby pond. Kids love that and the turtles do too! This park is known by the locals as the park behind the library. So, you could also stop and check out the books and maybe read a quick story or two.
